This is what Frakter looks like when first started.

There are several fractal types. All these are scripts in a control file. You can add pretty much any fractal you like.

To the right, there is a parameter list. This makes it possible to explore even more fractal types. The [ x; y ] notation is for complex numbers, x is the real part and y the imaginary.

It is possible to colourize the fractals freely. Colour maps are easily saved and loaded.

It is possible to resize the fractals and it is extremely easy to make desktop background images. It is also possible to reduce or increase the resolution at which the fractals are shown to expand the size of the displayed image without affecting the processing time (not shown).

The zoom and pan history list can be used to go back and forth. It is also possible to type in the wanted coordinates directly.
